Venetian Lagoon excursions: find out what to see
Chioggia, the little Venice
Chioggia is a painting that opens onto the Venetian Lagoon: a postcard to enjoy with its bright colors, lined houses, hidden squares and bragozzi, the typical fishing boats boasting hand-painted sails and sacred figures protecting the prow.
Not by coincidence, it has been included among the destinations suggested by the New York Times, both for its art gems and for the beaches equipped for families and children.

A little stroll in the city center
It’s worth taking a stroll along the piers and canals and visiting the medieval historic center: a village built on a cluster of islands, where centuries-old buildings rise from the canals in all their declining beauty.
Enjoy the striking medieval-era alleyways until you reach the main street, Corso del Popolo. Afterwards, go straight to the Cathedral of Santa Maria, inspired by the Palladian style, and continue to the Church of Sant'Andrea and the Clock Tower, among the oldest ones still working worldwide.

Stop at the Fish Market
A stroll in the early morning hours offers moments of daily bustle: the fishing boats return around four o'clock to unload their catch, and the chanting of the mògnoli (fishmongers) will allow you to have an unforgettable experience.
Here you can find all the fishes of the Upper Adriatic Sea, from the most prized species, such as sole, sea bass and scallops, to the more humble (but nevertheless tasty!) anchovies and sardines.
